Mt. Graham...Merrill Reunion 2010

Mount Graham is always the weekend that our children get to play and be with their children and play and be with their cousins.  This year because of a flux pax not everyone  could of been there came.  The forest service call JT and said that one of the spots that was reserved was inaccessable so the reunion was cancelled because there was not room enough for everone to get into the one camp ground........our children said that no matterwhat they wanted to go up to the mountain  and go and find a place to camp...the day before we left Uncle Frank who was already up there....talked to a ranger who came into camp and ask why we could not camp in our spot............ reserved spot....he said he did not see any reason..others had made different plans and could not change them the last minute.   But as you can see....we did have a wonderful time and did not get rain until we were packing up to leave for home on Monday.  Halee and Sage tried to make their usual swing in the tree....but had to settle for a zip line.  Dallin was still enjoying his gilly suit and  hope to scare Aunt Rachelle and Uncle Aaron when they got into camp late on Friday....but it was so late that he was asleep....so he quickly put on the next morning and attempted to do the deed then. Sunday morning we all met up at the O's campground and had a spiritual meeting.  Aunt Kay talked about her Grandpa Gerald Merrill and the wonderful man he was and the many experiences he had , one which he was able to take apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ around the Gila valley before there was anything but horse and buggy.  Brother Heber J. Grant told him that the valley was being preserved for the saints and would someday have a great deal to do with the kingdom of God...it was Grandpa Gerald Merrill who worked on the Graham mountains and grandma Lorena Sarah Taylor, his wife who gave us the tradition of coming up to the mountain...he was a forest ranger himself.  Kyle Merrill gave a spiritual talk about had we can grow and learn each day.  Ryan Merrill, JT's and Kelly's son who just got home from a two year Mission to Orem, Utah gave a few remarks about his mission.  Gary gave a few thank yous and bore his testimony.  JT, uncle Orland oldest son finished up with his talk about being perfect even as our Father in Heaven is perfect.....We then went back to our camps and prepared lunch for a pot luck.    Yum.....we were all fed and spiritually fed on Sunday.

Sunday was also Christine's birthday.....Sean's wife.  Sean even surprised us all and had presents for her.....a nice new bag.  I made a cake and we all enjoyed being together.

The children all had a wonderful time....they liked being in the Artic Cat and in the rinno, and the golf cart.

At the end of the Monday morning it decided to rain...but not be deterred...the card game was moved inside Sean's trailer.....
